Message From Executive Director, NAMI Butler County PA
New ED has 30 years of mental health, youth, and family therapy services experience
Pamela Jeneé Wilbon was recently named executive director of NAMI Butler County PA, an affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), the largest grass-roots organization in the country dedicated to improving the lives of people living with a mental health condition. She assumed her responsibilities on March 1.
“Pamela is an experienced administrator in strategic planning, program implementation and development, grant writing, and community-needs assessments,” said NAMI Butler board president Joyce Saunders in announcing the appointment. “NAMI Butler’s programming and outreach has increased significantly since COVID, and these skills will be very important as we work to expand our organization’s outreach and continue to meet the needs of area residents affected by mental illness.”
Prior to joining NAMI Butler, Ms. Wilbon, a Pittsburgh resident, served since 1998 in various leadership positions with Pittsburgh Community Services, a nonprofit that supported individuals with low- income to reduce the effects of poverty through its direct service programs, identifying resources, and assessing and empowering them to make progress toward self-sufficiency.
Ms. Wilbon holds a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Sociology/Anthropology and a minor in Psychology from Carlow University and a Master of Arts in Organizational Management from the University of Phoenix.
Ms. Wilbon replaces Donna Lamison, who served as executive director from February 2020 until March 1.
